Grandma Rocks the Park began with the goal to inspire me to do more fun stuff outside and enjoy our natural and beautiful world.  Over the last year and a half, it has certainly accomplished that goal for me.  It encouraged me to visit some of the most beautiful areas close to where I live, and to incorporate side adventures as part of business trips or when visiting family (check out the blog posts).

I am ready to start phase 2 of Grandma Rocks the Park, or what I will call GRP 2.0.  The focus will still be to visit beautiful, natural places and to appreciate the opportunities we all have to enjoy in our national parks, monuments and forests, as well as state parks, scenic trails and other wild places.  For GRP 2.0, I will also include connecting with family and friends more deliberately on these epic adventures.

I have immediate family in Alaska, Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Texas and Vermont.  Hey, brothers and sisters, imagine all the beautiful places we can go!  I am excited about all the additional cool places to visit once I start pulling extended family and friends into the mix.

GRP 2.0 will also focus on more adventures with my grand children.  Now that they are a little older, we will go camping, hiking, rock climbing, cross country skiing, fishing and all sorts of other fun things.  I want to help encourage their interest in enjoying nature and outdoor activities that are good for them and our environment.

I feel a very sincere responsibility to be a good role model for my grand children on respecting and enjoying the outdoors, and if I can encourage others at the same time, that is a great bonus.

So, don’t be surprised to hear from me to start planning an adventure near you! I hope to hear from anyone interested in joining me on one of these great adventures.

Remember, just get out there!!!!
