I am moving back to the Midwest, but took one final trip (as a Montana resident) to Yellowstone National Park. This park has been good to me, and I have a ton of great memories. Living in Montana has been good for me too, and I have loved the opportunities it has provided to visit some of the most beautiful places in the Western United States.

I am lucky enough to have spent a lot of time in YNP, and share it with friends and family over the past 12 years.
As I drove through the Park, knowing this was the last visit before my big move, I experienced feelings of gratitude and appreciation for the amazing life I have, for the love of family and friends, for my health and well being. But most of all, a complete sense of confidence that “I’ll be back”!

I have enjoyed all of my trips to Yellowstone, and the other wild places that I have had easy access to (relatively speaking).
My move back to the Midwest will allow for more exploration of the National and State Parks within easy access (relatively speaking) in that region.
But most of all, I look forward to sharing more time in the woods with my beautiful grandchildren, helping them learn more about and come to appreciate the awesomeness of nature and the importance of protecting it.
So, goodbye for now Yellowstone, I will be back and continue to enjoy your beauty for many, many more years to come.
Here are some pictures from trips to Yellowstone over the years:

What I learned about the park:
I know that I have said this over the years, but you can never visit Yellowstone too often. It never fails to amaze and renew your spirit. Yellowstone holds a special place in my heart and always will. I will be visiting Yellowstone for the rest of my life!
What I learned about myself:
My Montana adventure has been amazing, and I have been blessed with opportunities to meet great people, visit great places and just spend amazing time in the wilderness. This next stage of life will be about living close to family and discovering new adventures with them. As life changes, I am grateful to have the opportunities to change with it. I am also grateful that my work will continue to bring me back to Montana on a regular basis. I will be back!
Some thoughts for you:
Stay tuned for more Grandma Rocks the Park – featuring parks in the Midwest and Eastern parts of the country. I will be reaching out to old friends to join me on future adventures!
